Reason #13 Allendale Is Better Than Where You Live
When you get simple auto maintenance and repair done, do you have to bring your own supplies and parts? I didn’t think so.
In Allendale, you have to buy your own supplies (oil filter, brake pads, etc) from the store, before you get to the auto repair shop.
In Greenville (and most other places), the mechanic either has a stock of supplies, or has a delivery / pick up system with suppliers. In Allendale, you have to make two separate stops and purchases – one for parts, one for labor.
I was a little shocked about this when I got my brakes done (but even more shocked when I saw the mechanic smoking while doing an oil change). And then it happened again when I needed an oil change.
In your town you make one less stop and maybe get done sooner. In Allendale, we get one more opportunity to be in the community and to say “Good morning” and “Thank you.”
Who needs convenience and efficiency? Not Allendale, apparently.
**The picture above is the waiting room, where I penned this post. Notice the non-operable air vent covered up with duct tape. In September, this room was more moist than fresh Duncan Hines brownies, but much less tasty.
